My 9 year old switched over to Fludrocort because our HMO would not pay for the Florinef. The endo said it was o.k. HOWEVER, I wished I would have had a blood test done two weeks later because the test would have shown that Fludrocort .1 mg once a day was not enough. The endo increased the dosage to .1mg twice a day which seems to be better, but I’m dealing with another set of problems that I don’t know if they are Fludrocort related. Apparently, the Florinef duplicates some of the Cortef activity. If you switch to Fludrocort, then get the blood work done.
