Anne-MarieOut of interest, I was wondering for those children that have GH replacement therapy how often and at what time do they administer the shots? Is it daily in the evenings?
Have they ever had blood tests in the hours after the shot and after they have had their 10pm doses of steroid and have the levels of GH been monitored through the night? I just wondered that if cortisol suppressed GH, whether it suppressed the injected GH when it had been given or whether there is any Doctor that has monitored this at all with animals or children before they deemed it necessary and able to be used in kids with CAH? I’m finding it hard to believe that somehow injected GH responds any differently to the stuff made by a child naturally and wondering if instead of giving a child replacement GHm they could instead consider harnassing the childs own potential to make GH if they dosed as the body usually makes cortisol?
