Danny CarltonTwo of my kids have CAH, Jonathan, who’s 8 and Ginny, who’s 4. There were some rough times early on, especially for Jonathan, but by being diligent, and keeping with the medicine and watching the symptoms he was alright. It seems overwhelming right now because you’re getting all the information dumped on you at once, but you have to remember that day by day it’ no that burdensome, and once you get used to the medicine schedule and making sure you keep the emergency shot handy, life wil bee farly normal.
Last night I took the kids to soccer practice, and Jonathan wound up playing for two teams since the team his older brother is on is short several players. He went through both practices, enjoying it and came home feeling great. Life doesn’t end with a diagnosis of CAH. It just means you and your child will have to be a bit more diligent, is all.
