Hi Genine,JanetDI too am a single mom. My CAH daughter will turn 4 in November. I remember when I first got her diagnosis, I cried and cried. I was also scared -- what if I did something wrong!? But over time, doing the CAH meds has become a part of our life. But I have done LOTS of reading to see how other parents have handeled various situations (mainly illness/stress issues). Now when Olivia gets sick I am able to go through my mental check list of what I need to do and watch for.
As you get more comfortable with CAH and how your son handles stress, the fear will ease. You will be able to go about your day-to-day life in a "normal" fashion (what ever normal is :-)
This board is a good place to get information, support and ask questions.
Give Kelly Leight a call too. I know talking to someone can be very helpful.
I would also suggest that you contact The MAGIC Foundation http://www.magicfoundation.org/ at 1-800-3-MAGIC-3
Good luck!
