cah and labour

Does anyone have an opinion on the effect that labour has on a CAH child?

We have four children, three born by normal vaginal delivery and the last one, a little CAH girl delivered by Caesarian section as she was distressed during labour.  My endocrinologist assures me that there is not a direct link between foetal distress and CAH, and that lots of CAH children are born  normally.  I am now expecting our fifth child.  I haven’t had testing done so I don’t know whether this little one is affected by CAH or not, but I am concerned about the birth again.  IF this one is affected might it also struggle in labour or have lots of other women given birth normally to CAH children?  (Our little girl is salt-wasting).

We are in the UK.  I know that there is a higher incidence of Caesarians in the US, but I’m still interested to hear of others’ opinions.

Thanks in anticipation, Sarah
