Anne-MarieNo they don’t make cortisol arol, but their bodies try to unfortunately. Their ability to try and make it is no dofferent is it? Where they rise, their bodies are trying to make it. That is what needs to be dealt with.
So where is your point? That when they rise earlier than 7am as per the abstract, they should go without until it reaches 7am everyday? What are you driving at here? I am sure you are knowledgeable enough to figure out what is made instead within the first 30 minute if they cannot make cortisol though, given you have your head in abstracts as often as I do and are writing a book about it all. So why question it now when I posted studies that contradict what your Doctor has told you? Do other studies not count where it concerns CAH?
Yes the kids can have varied HPA response if they sneeze, whatever. But we are talking about the fiddly little stuff here are we We are talking about a dosing regime that suits a child’s waking and sleeping routine. You cannot expect everyone’s kid’s to wake, take their tabs and sleep at the same time. Different parent’s wake and sleep differently. Some folks rise early to get their kids into daycare. other’s don’t need to rush around and their kid’s sleep longer. Or is that too complex do you feel for Doctor’s to comprehend? When kids do get extra stress or ill earlier than their next dose, we don’t wait for the next dose time do we? So why should a child wait an hour for their morning med’s huh? So what if they sneeze. no doubt they extra they get above other kids to cover’s it. Let’s face it, they arn’t on the exact amount that their bodies make are they? They are on slightly more to cover them for any unforseen mishaps such as sneezing. It is all about catering to a childs routine and dosing them as their sleep wake patterns are isn’t it? Time, adrenal glands and HPA axis wait for NO MAN as far s I knew. If adrenals are trying to make cortisol from rising at 6am, by 7am you have such a deficit that the dose you give has more work to do as it not only has to clear up the mess accumulated overnight from 3-6am, it has the huge bit of 17 OHP it made when the kid got up to sort out also. I am sure you understand things as far as that as we have discussed it in the past.
