Please be patient with me. I am trying to do research and educate myself about CAH but I am just starting and have so much to learn. I am writing a screenplay where an actress pretends to be a hermaphrodite in order to gain notoriety. Her best friend is a women in her twenties with CAH that did not have an operation. There is also another supporting character with CAH who did have an operation and is now the head of a fictional militant intersex activist group. It is a comedy but I would like to be well informed on issues so that I can present a sentive sympathetic side to the issues along with the comedy. I would love to hear from anyone who can tell me what they would like to see as these characters struggle with their careers and try to develop intimate relationships. I would like to be able to raise awareness with my movie as well as entertain. Any input would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I will continue reading as much as I can on the subject.However most of the info I find is encouraging doctors to leave the decision to operate up to the individual child. I cann’t find much on what it’s like as an adult who has not had an operation who wants to start an intimate relationship with someone who does not know about CAH. Sincerely,
