I hope you find a better doctor!  My two cents - the doctor should be sued.

With proper treatment - yes - CAH children can lead a very normal life.  Again - with proper treatment!!

If CAH is not treated properly children can die (especial the salt wasting CAH child).  Non-classical and classical both need stress doses of cortef for severe illness (fever, repeat vomiting, etc).  Did the doctor precribe solu-cortef for emergency use? Did you get directions on what to do for illness to prevent an adrenal crisis - that can cause death?
