How could you accurately measure either the propensity to be overweight or the final-height growth potential of any child?

1. Possibly, especially if oversuppressed. When assessing dosage, a decision might be taken to err slightly on the side of caution with a newborn CAH baby, to prevent crisis. Our baby took months for his levels to settle down. You may see some chubbiness; it may pass.

2. Minimal growth loss may occur, especially if there are long periods of over- or under-suppression.

If you do see figures for final height achieved, remember that these are a measure not of the way our children currently are treated, but of treatment regimes that began a couple of decades ago.
