DebbiWI don’t where you live, but it sounds like your doctor has either too many patients or does not care to deal with your concerns accept on his/her timeline. It sounds also to me that you have had concerns over time and they have not been addressed to your satisfaction. I bet you could get a second opnion by another doctor in the time it takes for you to see him/her at your regular appointment. I can’t imagine not being able to see our doctor any sooner. Perhaps you could get a referral from someone here in your region who is open to other strategies in treating CAH and you could have the supportive environment you are entitled to. I wish you luck!
P.S. Frankly, it would piss me off if our doctor could not take the time to see me. When my son was 12 days old, and after days of my pediatrician dismissing me and telling my my son had breastmilk jaundice and was rejecting my breastmilk...we went to the ER. We were so close to losing him on that day. This ped had been my daughter’s doctor for 2 years, he had a newborn in ICU and it was 24 hours after his admission to the hospital before he showed his face. He screwed up and could not face us. Either that or he was not going to alter his regular rounds to see the parents of his patient. That was the day I learned that not all doctors are created equal. I learned to question until I am satisfied. I am respectful and am treated with respect. If not...I am out the door and will find someone else. It is my money, my child (or my body) and my time (don’t make me wait too long either).
