Anne-MarieI think your right about looking at their development as a whole. Blood tests are good, but they don’t give you the whole picture, and unless they tested over 24 hours, they wouldn’t really tell you anything about the individual doses that your child is on. Height and weight is something that they should pay attention to as well as bone age. Blood tests for Ashley "always" looked good, depending upon whom was reading the results, but they are by no means an indication as to whether the doses are right to allow or growth, or if the child is properly controlled.
At aged three Ashley had 5mg morning and 5mg night. He was switched at 3 half years to 10mg at night. That kind of dosing affected his growth greatly up to aged 7yrs. Your doses sound fine, though I have to say, I would want them to check each indivdual dose, as it is obvious that childrens and babies needs for cortisol alter throughout the whole of a day and they would never in theory produce the same amount every eight hours. I would assume then that "each" is adequate for that time period where coverage is concerned? I.e. on conventional dosing they generally give the same dose morning and evening and a smaller dose at noon (say 2-3pm). Is that how they are?
