{As an RN, it is my understanding that DR. Maria New, in New York City,{212-746-3456]is the leading Pediatric Endocrinologist who’s specialty is CAH. People fly in from all over the country to see her. I am told they take growth VERY seriously. If your kids genetic potential is 5’10", that is her goal. She won’t settle for 5’9"! She accomplishes this by giving growth hormone throughout childhood. Her belief is hieght loss is already established in CAH. Giving small dosses in childhood is better than waiting until growth plates are ready to fuse at puberty. Also, a week stay is not uncommon. She provides accomidations for one parent and child. Her success rate is exellent. She is very very busy. I have an appointment, Jan.22,2003. Another doctor ,also in New York, is Dr. Maria Voiatzi [212-746-3462] She does exactly the same thing. My daughter is 3and a half, bone age of 8. Predicted hieght is 4’9". Her genetic potential is 5’3". Her current Endo. Dr. is comfortable with this loss. I am not. Hope this helps anyone.
