renin levels for locah?
Oct. 28th, 2002   12:55pm

I have a question, I was told that Renin levels are checked for  children taking Florinef. So why would the doctor have her renin level checked if she doesn’t take Florinef?

I will no longer be seeing Dr. Ponder. He has scheduled an appt for me to see Dr. Geseko. She is supposed to have trained with Dr. New. That makes me feel a little better. This appt went horrible, and I didn’t even get a chance to ask him any real questions. Talk about God syndrome. He was SO cocky! I hope this other doctor has a better bedside manner.

Anyway as we were leaving she handed me the order for bloodwork, I asked why were they checking Renin levels if she doesn’t have saltwasting, she came back and said he checks these levels on all the cah patients.

Tay has gained 10 pounds so far and has only grown 1/2 inch in 5 months since being on Cortef. He was very rude when speking to me about the way to use the body mass to come up with the dose needed. He said to me that hers was 14.5 I didn’t understand because she is taking 22.5mg of cortef a day. So I still don’t know what the 14.5 meant. He said she was on a low dose not a high dose. We will have her blood drawn tomorrow morning.

Also, I thought that if there was no real need that they didn’t need to check the private EVERY SINGLE time! She really does not like it! He basically told me that they HAVE to, so I asked that the female doc do it instead. She at least asked that my daughter unbutton her own pants. Dr. Ponder just pulls em down usually before the kid realizes what is even happening. I don’t like that at all.

Well I had to vent that all out. If anyone has any info on this Dr. Geseko please let me know. I wonder why she left New York.  Sorry I’m still kind ruffled!
