Protein Shakes
Nov. 4th, 2002   5:31pm

I buy the high protein shakes that you can get from the super market or health food shops.  Vanilla flavour.  (That way I can add the cappacino coffee drinks to it and have a cold cappacino type drink---or you can buy other flavorings too to add such as strawberry or banana--sugar free of course.  The cappacino is my fave.  You could add chocolate too in the way of Cadburys drinking variety etc.)  It is the type that body builders drink and is good for helping with building of lean muscle.  It is not the same thing as the diet shakes you can get I don’t think.  Because I don’t have carbs after 5pm, I may feel a little hungry at bed time.  So I have a high protein shake along with my  calcium supplement.   In the morning I take a muti vitamin and a Co-Enzyme Q-10 supplement and I have cod liver oil with meals.  The Co Enzyme Q-10 helps you to sustain longer periods of exercise as it gives you more energy to muscles such as your heart, legs and arms apparently.

I did buy a stack of soy milk drink some few months ago and then did a search and saw all the stuff I posted above and threw it all out.  It tasted sickly actually to me.  Very sweet and not natural tasting at all.   I think as long as you take adequate protein in the way of a shake, you will have sufficient to repair any muscle from any workouts or exercise that you do.  As I use the gym from later on in the day, I thought the shake last think at night would help.
