Can someone explain to me about DHEA?  What exactly is DHEA and how is the level related to CAH? 

My daughter has non SW CAH and is also currently being treated for RSD (a problem with the sympathetic nervous system causing great pain in her leg since simple arthroscopic surgery back on May 9).  I have read that low DHEA may be related to RSD or chronic pain syndrome.  The problem is I don’t know if how DHEA levels are affected by CAH.  Are they higher or lower than normal?

My daughter is about to go to the hospital next week for an extended epidural in an attempt to calm down the nerves and get them to act in a more normal fashion.  I would like whatever info anyone has on DHEA before we do this procedure so I can present it to the doctors.
