LynnTHi Julie,
I know this is scary for you especially if it is the first time that your child’s levels were this high. While it is high, it can still be controlled with an increase of meds.
The endos do like to check ALL the levels and not just the OHP to see if there were any mitigating factors that might have given a false high level result. It appears that since this level also showed a high OHP level your Endo is going to increase his meds.
Here are a few questions to ask yourself (your doctor should also have asked you some of these):
Has your son recently gone through a growth spurt or been under any unusual and ongoing stress? Has his behavior changed at all in the last few months? What meds is your son presently taking and at what dose?
Calm down and hang in there, we will be here for you.
