To Sean: RE: Update

What a heartfelt update Sean.  Thanks for sharing!  What a blessing to hear Claire has done so well.

Personally I am glad you guys met with Dr. Rink and have chosen that route (as controversial as it might be).  I pray you will be as pleased as we are with the results of this decision.  You know as I’ve told you before there are those who will agree and those who do not.

Having a 9 and 1/2 yr old daughter who was born severely verilized and seeing her  wear close fitting spandex swimsuits and feeling comfortable enough to change her clothes in front of her best buds on sleepovers is daily proof that the surgery worked.

No one but God himself knows what the future holds for our girls (physically, sexually or emotionally) or for any of us for that matter, but I do know what I see today.  I see a happy, healthy, athletic, outgoing, confident, well adjusted 9 yr old girl living as natural a life as can be.

No hiding, changing in the bathroom, looking down and seeing herself as any different (thus possibly crushing her young self esteem) and having to deal with the mean-ness so many children and some adults offer these days. There’s our proof.
