Welcome to the board. My son also has SVCAH. He is 17months and was diagnosed through newborn screening. I am sorry that your son was diagnosed so late but hopefully now you can try to repair some of the damage. How advanced is your son’s bone age?  When did you first notice the Autistic symptoms? I almost hate to ask this because of the controversy but do you feel his vaccines had anything to do with it?

One thing that we all learn or realize as we try to make sense of it all is that we always tend to think that one problem has to be tied to another. I can’t say that I know that Autism and CAH are not linked but I doubt that there is a connection. There are some kids that suffer from other problems (if you go back through some of the archives) but they are not caused or related to CAH. There may be some behavioral changes because of the meds but even that would not be Autistic related and not everyone has reactions to the meds.

I hope you find strength to help your son deal with the double challenge you both  have been presented with.
