Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my son was diagnosed late from what I’m hearing. It wasn’t until we met this new pediatrician that we even had a clue. We now know that our 2 year old daughter is most likely CAH as well. Most of her preliminary tests point to it. Both kids were a product of IVF. Interesting since now I probably know that CAH could have contributed to my 10 years of infertility. Its a whirlwind of information over the past few months.

My son’s bone age is at age 13. I remember that when we left the endo’s office, he had said "we just want to make sure that the bone age matches the chronological age. if the results come back at let’s say, 10 years, we have issues." When the doctor called a week later and told us 13 years - we knew we were changed. We had our son at the doctor within 2 days for treatment. Found out that he had been hospitalized the year prior due to a serious virus. We didn’t know anything about his CAH at this point. He was an hour away from a spinal tap as they thought he had leukemia/meningitis, etc.. We spent 4 days in Intensive Care with virtually no answers. Once the fever broke, everything seemed to level out. The endo checked the records and sure enough - CAH was apparently present. Wow - couldn’t believe it!

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Karen
