Jill THi Janet
I’m so glad that Olivia recovered so well. I’m in agreement with Julia that you need to be very careful with vaccines. Although they are called "routine" , the adverse reactions that can occur are not so routine when they happen to your child. It sounds like your daughter definately had a reaction to this 7 vaccine combination and you should discuss this thoroughly with her doctor, especially when considering future boosters. If you decide to give boosters, maybe you should consider giving single vaccines, specially ordered by your pediatrician, just as Julia suggested.
You might also want to be careful of the flu vaccine(if your child hasn’t already received it). This vaccine contains aluminum (in the U.S. but not in Canada), and thimerosol, a form of mercury (in both Canada and the U.S.) Thimerosol has been ordered to be removed from all over the counter medications and has been suggested to be phased out of all childhood vaccines. It has been removed from all of the newer batches of vaccines, but in many places, the old batches are still being used up.( I can’t believe that the pharmeceutical companies are allowed to get away with this, but they have the governments in their back pockets!)
The hepatitis B vaccine and the flu vaccine are still being made with thimerosol.
Just thought I’d pass on some of this info. You can never be too informed when it comes to vaccines! I’m very glad that Olivia recovered so well. Take care - JillT
