My daughter is 3yrs.9mo. Her bone age is 8.25yrs. She was diagnoed 2mo. ago with classic sv CAH. My doctors in Cleveland say her ht. potential is 4’8". I flew her to New York. Dr. Maria New wants her started on Growth Hormone therepy ASAP. She feels she can get my daughter to 5’3". She is cofident my daugher will be just fine on GH. I trust her very much. My doctor in Cleveland feels it is too experimntal. He feels 10 years of GH therapy is very risky. I tend to agree, we are sooo torn. Does anyone have any experince with GH therapy in toddlers? Dr New says she will be O.k. Her reasearch indicates children improve thier Ht. potential initally, but none of her kids are finished growing yet. I’m afraid it will compromise her ht. potential in the long run. I am desperate to do the right thing for my baby. I’m wondering if I can hold out until she’s older. But if I wait it maybe too late.
