Sandra1 ng/ml = 100 ng/dl = 1,000 ng/L
I took the above from a post in the archives that Carol posted. If this is the same Stephanie that I talked to the other day, welcome. Since you are in the states your son’s measurements were probably either ng/dl or ng/ml.
If your son’s 17ohp was 28ng/dl then I would say he is oversuppressed based on this level. It is very low. Are they trying to keep it at what a non CAH person’s levels would be?
If the measurement was 28ng/ml then you would multiply by 100 to get 2800ng/dl which wouldn’t be too bad but would be on the under suppressed side. I would also check his other results such as testos. andros. to see if it makes sense. I would imagine the Dr. would adjust his meds either way just a tweak to get it within the normal range which I believe is between 200-1000ng/dl. Someone correct me, please if I am wrong....
I’m sure some of the other women/men on this board that are on the ball with this will correct me if I am wrong..
I would call the nurse back and ask for the measurement...heck I would ask for all the lab work copies for the last 6 years so you can see what has been going on with him and it might help you see a pattern or what his 17ohp has been kept at. This is why I think seeing an endo every 3 months is much better for your son then every 6 months.
Good luck,
Sandra
