The problem I face now is how to operate.

I have one doctor (endo) recommending to reduce HC from 6.5 to 5, florinef from 0.5 to 0.25 and salt from 2grs to 1 gr, all at once and as of now. This doctor has seen my son just once, and is an expert endocrynologist, managing the department in one of the top hospitals in Spain.

On the other hand, I have another doctor (pediatrician), who diagnosed my child with SWCAH, who accepts the endo recommendation, but wants to do it in a controlled manner: no salt as of now, blood draw in a week; then reduce florinef, blood draw in 3 days; and finally reduce the HC with another control in 3 days. This doctor has a very good reputation, manages the ICU in two important hospitals in Madrid and has always managed well my other two kids.

So far, and considering the situation of leaving for 3 weeks, I’m following my ped’s direction and have only stopped the salt suplement, but I’m not convinced either. My impression is that hydrocortisone might have more side effects than florinef, so I’d love to get rid of it as soon as possible in the best way.

What a mess...
