re: re: Lupron and delayed puberty

Very slight development.  I know she is in puberty, but am puzzled as to why periods have not started yet - seeing as how she was already in puberty when lupron was started at age 5.  My understanding was that when the lupron was discontinued, puberty would resume.   It has, but it seems very s-l-o-w.  Not that I am complaining about that!!!  It’s  just that I wonder if the years of lupron could have had any affect on this.  Oversuppressed?  No.  Undersuppressed?  Possibly.  She has had constant pain in her right leg (RSD) since May.  Nothing has helped it to date.  She copes with it well, but I know it is a physical and psychological stress.  Her 17 OHP has been pretty high, but her androgens have been in the normal range.  I recently talked to her doctor about moving her up to an "intermediate" dose (between normal and stress) for a time to see if it helps to bring down the 17 OHP.  We need to get bloodwork done around the end of the month to see if it has helped.  Meanwhile I have to keep reminding her to take this higher dose - she forgets the increase if I don’t remind her.
