Anne-MarieIt’s an old fashioned remedy--ginger is supposed to quel nausea, but I doubt it was the best advice given you when your child has CAH and is in crisis. I doubt even ginger could quel the vomiting caused by a bug either. LOL!
Sometimes there are times when if you dose again and again after each vomit, eventually each time you dose, just the smallest amount is absorbed before they vomit again. So it is worth trying to persevere after the first and second vomit with repeat doses tripled. But ten vomits later? This Doctor should be taken out and shot. Geez your lucky...:)
Do you have the shot kit Amber? In my experience, Ashley makes a quick recovery after a shot and we had the Gp give this once and it occured within minutes as opposed to taking several hours of dosing double and triple orally.
Your post reminds me so much of the way I dealt with Ashley up to around 8 years old. These days after learning more about some children not pulling through times like that and learning how to do the shot I would not hesitate to give that if he got to a similar situation. If you haven’t got a kit, I’d make your first appointment with any new Endo based around getting that sorted out. Good to hear that she is recovering now. :)
