It’s not the medical costs, it’s the adoption costs. Foreign adoptions typically can cost $20 to $25 thousand or more, and require at least a week’s stay in the country the child or children are being adopted from. If we adopted a child or children with CAH they would be covered by our insurance the moment we had legal custody, so the medical costs wouldn’t be that great. But we don’t happen to have a spare $20,000 laying around at the moment.
