"in that if someone couldn’t afford at least that much, they probably couldn’t afford to support the extra children."

Well that is a good point.  I mean I realise that some people will pay anything to have and aqcuire children, and that what your saying is true in the sense that sometimes it can’t be anymore costly that feeding anc clothing a child.

Personally, I don’t know therefore why you would want to raise funds...because surely it is just a case of making a page for the two girls where prospective parents can go..which also links to these relative sites that educate prospective parents about CAH also as they are going to need to do a considerable amount of research and homework and be in touch with other parents who have CAH children when they do have the children and even before so that they a.) know what they are taking on if they are not familiar with CAH at all, and b.) if they are really able to take that on.

As a parent who had a birth child with CAH I didn’t have much choice in the matter, but due to education it has become a normal every day thing.  I guess it is easy finding homes for healthy children, but the ones that have medical conditions and possible future problems in health for all we know may put some prospective parents off--that is if they are not educated about CAH before they turn the girls down or whatever.  They may recoil and think, "Oh no steroids for life" which is not far from the ideas running through my head when Ash was diagnosed.  It’s only when you settle into things that it really becomes nothing except the Doctors appointments and like perhaps taking a vitmain supplement stage.

I think Don sees this and perhaps is concerned that it may be difficult to find prospective parents for the girls and keep them both together as they should be.  It’s a lot for adoptive parents to take on and really he perhaps didn’t so much want fund raising as want someone to help him find the girls prospective parents and educate them about CAH and help them see that apart from taking the med’s, and the Doctors checks three monthly, they can derive as much pleasure and love out of them as they would with any other children that did not have CAH.  That’s why I thought about the page really and then contacting an adoption agency to help in several countries, i.e. US, Canada, UK, Australasia etc.  I think we need them organizations to help really irregardless of cost...there are always prospective parents approaching them who would like to adopt children and whom are prepared to foot the cost whatever it is to get the children safely to their prospective home.  That and cared for adequaltely whilst the process and paper work is all worked through.
