Oh man, tell me it ain’t so.  This PHA thing is rarer than an honest politician.  According to that emedicine.com article "over 70 cases of this salt-wasting syndrome" (Renal PHA type 1) have been reported since 1958.  Given a world population of 6 billion that’s one person out of 85 million.  It goes on to say that PHA type 2 is "rare".  LOL.  If Zack has type 2 he may be the only one on the planet with it.

This stuff can’t be that rare.  How is it that any of you have heard of it if it affects one person out of 85 million?  According to those stats, if my son has PHA type 1 then he is one out of three people in the U.S.A. having it.  I find that hard to believe.  I hope he doesn’t have it.  If he does then the likelihood that any doctor in the world knows how to treat it are about zilch.
