More RAM will make a huge difference if he’s running Linux, Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.  It takes a lot of memory to index a message board at the same time as running a website as well as whatever else it’s used for.

I’m a geek.  All of my machines are 1 ghz or higher and have no less than 512 megs of ram, and 80 gig hard drives.  But then again, I’m a geek and I build all my own machines except for my laptop.  I have a network hard wired into my house.  :p
