Anne-MarieI too had bladder problems the first time ... the bladder adhered itself to the uterus during healing. That we later assumed was the cause of my frequent UTI’s. In the second op it was longer as they had not anticipated this and had to spend dome time manipulating the two to get them apart before they could actually do the caesar and deliver the baby. The second op was much better as it was three women surgeons that did it and they were much more gentle actually. They told me everything that they had done after the op too. I sometimes wonder if after the hard work of separating the bladder and the uterus if they just adhered to eachother again in healing the second time because I do still have the UTI’s and the scans don’t show any problem at all with the bladder.
I never did any abdominal exercise until recently even after healing and I can gladly report to you that everything is falling into place where that is concerned and the muscles are becoming stronger.
They sometimes do an abdominal hysterectomy if the uterus is enlarged or whatever, but I guess they have sussed that you are fine for a vaginal op in some way. I think it is natural to worry about things going wrong but those mishaps are relatively rare really. When I had my second caesar they tied my tubes and I said I did not want the clips--I wanted the "proper" job doing, cut, tied and everything soldered up for good measure (er cauterized but like the soldered bit better)...LOL! Make sure there are NO accidents again...hehehehe. So I did worry that in asking that much that they may screw up and lop them out or something by accident...lol...you must know by now how paranoid I am...but they did a good job!
You will be fine...they willl have done the op lot’s of times and they will get your steroid doses right as they have time to plan..better than an unscheduled emergency op anyday I would have thought...they will do a good job for ya! They did outline the risks of the op I had and said before hand that if there is too much bleeding that they knock ya out and then perform a hysterectomy...unfortunately sometimes things to alter when they get into the op and nothing is 100% I guess...but I had no choice in the matter anyway really BUT to have that op.
I guess even with your the benefits far outweigh the risks.
