I had to laugh...

My mom saw the program.  She said it covered a gamut of different disorders and lumped CAH in the lot.  She had some criticisms.

I keep hearing about how tomboyish our SWCAH daughter will be and I have to laugh.  She is the only 16 month old I know who like a Diva "demands" to have her toenails painted when big sister is getting hers done, wears a big sisters poofy feather dress up boa and hat tries to wear mommy’s shoes steals big sisters dollies and scolds big brother yelling "no no no no no and uh oh" when he stands up like a boy to potty.  She also usually prefers a dress over pants and I let her point to which outfit she wants which is usually pink or purple and frilly.

She has small math skills appropriate for her age level but her forte is mostly in the linguistical areas of her mind.  She sings her ABC’s (gets most wrong but at least she gives it a go) and can say almost anything she wants (this is of course only on her majesty’s terms).

I guess this goes against the grain of the scientists, but then again when the try to lump everybody into one pickle jar they’re going to find some of the pickles don’t fit.  I suppose you can prove anything or say you want to as long as you have enough people to stand behind you and say it.  Media is so seldom objective these days anyways that I chucked my TV out the window several months ago... thank goodness it landed on a spider passing by so I guess it was a two-fer.  Hehehe  Just kidding, but maybe that was my non classic prenatal exposure to testosterone talking.  I’ll have to ask my husband his opinion (who would kindly inform me I’m PMS-ing and to please go eat some chocolate).  Molds or no molds... life is what you make it.

Laughs to all,

Adina
