re: Immunizations

Cassy,

Hi.  My 7 month old SWCAH daughter did not have any reactions to her immunizations so far so was not given any stress doses.  We did give her a little baby tylenol about an hour before as suggeted by the Pediatrician to make her more comfortable after the shots but I believe that was suggested by her to all her patients, not just CAH.  In the beginning our daughter saw her endo quite frequently because of her early weight loss and our concerns and not being able to tell whether something was "CAH" or regular newborn issues since we are new parents and couldn’t tell.  We have had her blood taken every four weeks, especially after a change in medication, to see where her levels were and if her kidneys had matured enough to reduce her florinef a bit.  We also have her blood pressure checked at every visit because of the salt retention drugs.  We have reduced her cortef two times since she has been out of the NICU and I think this was because in the beginning they put her on a higher dosage to bring down her levels quickly and then have been able to reduce according to "maintenance" dosages.

Hope that helps.  Good luck to you and your little ones!

Rebecca
