What are the major differences between SV & SW CAH? Specifically behavior of the child and side effects as well as treatment and medication. My son is believed to have SV CAH (see posts below) rather than SW because his renin count was low and cortisol level was "low-normal". The main issues with CAH seem to come because of a lack of cortisol or sodium, from what I have read. Yet, people with SV CAH have normal levels of both. Both forms are considered "classical" and my endo told me there is not all big of a difference between the two. What gives?? I have found many explanations of the medical differences between the two, but I am wondering about things such as dosage timing, adrenal crisis, playing sports, drinking alcohol, moodiness, weight problems, etc.Jim
