Shaun Le ConteAnyone have anything to share about the gender role behaviour of their son with CAH?
The androgen produced by the adrenal gland has two possible conversions: testosterone and estrogen. Which it converts to depends on the levels of testosterone in the body, and since testicular testosterone is low in boys that are undermedicated, the andrenal androgen will tend to convert to testosterone. However, there may be conversion to estrogen leading to amounts greater than normal for a boy.
This leads to my question: has anyone found that their son is a little bit more feminine than other boys?
