I definitely agree with Lynn T regarding the oversuppression. My daughter is about to turn 18 and we’ve had to deal with several occassions where the meds were just too high. In all cases of oversupression, she was gaining weight (yes the moon face and hump) at a seemingly uncontrollable rates and was "weepy" - the slightest thing would get her crying. The depression part was always the first to be noticed but hard to figure out because if she’s undersupressed she gets down right edgy and it is sometimes hard to tell the difference until the weight issue is sorted out. Eventually we have found if she loses weight and is depressed(edgy),she is undersuppressed while on the other hand if she gains weight and is depressed(weepy), she is oversuppressed. I’ve always thought that finding the right dose is like a balancing act. Don’t loose hope. While my daughter’s weight control has been somewhat of a rollercoaster ride, we have always found help with a dietician referred by the ped endo. In the past, she has been a great help in counselling my daughter (and me too)! Most recently, my daughter has been following the weight watchers diet with good success. But it is imperative to get the right dose in place. Take care and good luck!
