the importance of good medical care

This is a quick offshoot of Jaz’s post regarding her DD (DD=darling daughter).  At Bodies Like Ours, we hear of some really bad endos---people that really shouldn’t be practicing medicine.  As I wrote in the thread below for Jaz, at first I chalked it up to PTSD (pretty common among CAH girls and other IS conditions) but then the same names kept coming up.  We also hear of some real stars...those who are friendly, caring, and compassionate.

If you have a child who is reaching adulthood, please do your best to make sure they are under the care of a doc who is friendly, caring, and compassionate.  If they are not, they may not get the medical care they need as adults.  Unfortunately, if they decide to avoid medical care based upon childhood experiences, there isn’t a whole lot you will be able to do except hope and pray that everything turns out okay.

In the same vein, share your good doctor stories (Bodies would especially like to hear from adults about good experiences with adult endos--we maintain a small database and the only way onto it is by either patient or professional referral---no self-referrals are allowed)  I believe that Kelly Leight also maintains a list, however I do not know her criteria for inclusion.
