suggestions for giving meds

hi

i was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions how to give pills to a 15 month old.  our son is 15 months old and has nccah, and is currently on no meds.  well he is going to have tubes placed on friday and the dr. wants to give him a stress dose of meds.  they want me to give him a dose of med at midnight.  i will just tell you that my son is horrible at taking meds.  as you can imagine we have had about 6 ear infections in the past 6 months and 2 weeks or more of antibiotics at a time have been a real struggle to get down him.  it is not that the meds are that bad he just wants to do it himself and so what if he squirts half of the med on the dog. (or at least that is what he thinks)  i have recently starting giving him tylenol and motrin in the pill formula and he takes it fine.  but the liquid is another story.  and my husband (who also has cah) states that the cortef is horrible to take it leaves a terrible taste in your mouth.  (why can’t the drug people make the pills taste like the chewable tylenol, oh that would be too simple, right?)   so if anyone has some helpful advise on how to make pill giving a more pleasant experience, i would love some help.

thanks
