Both my kids take their medicine straight, but they’ve been doing that since they were little so they’re used to the taste. Since your little boy hasn’t, he wouldn’t be used to the taste. Crumbling the pill and mixing it with something he likes might work as long as what you’re putting it in can mask the taste. Since your husband already take it, he could use his daily dose to test the flabor hiding properties of various foods. Maybe peanut butter? Syrup? In fact I can’t imagine a kid not taking Cortef powdered into a teaspoon of Karo corn syrup.
