Just my 2cents, but at age 2 you son should be old enough to take the tablet form. (This will depend on his dosage) And tablets are so MUCH easier to deal with.

After seeing how well my now 4-year-old handles pills (and handled them at 18-months) I only use the soft chewable forms of Tylenol and Motran for her and my 2-year-old. I did use the liquid for the 2-year-old before she hit the age/wieght requirement on the tablet forms. Much cleaner and easier to transport.
