My daughter is also on a small dose of cortef so she is on liquid hydrocortisone.  Our pharmacy makes if for us once a month and it is great.  I love it because we can make small changes and it is so easy to double or triple her dose when needed.  She has been on this for 2 1/2 years with no problems.  I would highly recomened you look into it.  Our ped endo said anyone who is taking a dose less than 2.5 mg per dose should be on the liquid because it is too hard to be accurate with a dose smaller than that with the pill.  If you have any questions please post here.  I hope this helps.
