I had pre-eclampsia in my secong pregnancy, and my daughter was has CAH salt wasting type, my son (first pregnancy) is a carrier and my blood pressure was normal. I had this discussion with my obstetrician as I am now 19 weeks pregnant and because of my high blood pressure last time decided not to take the dex, my daughter was induced six weeks early and I was on hospital bed rest 3 weeks before that!
My Dr’s insist that the fact that my daughter had CAH had nothing to do with the high blood pressure but I’m not so sure. I have my 20 week scan next week, and they will try and sex the baby, if they are not succesfull they will do an amnio to determine the sex and if the baby has CAH or not, I will keep you posted.
