Developmental delays

I am curious to know if anyone else has a child that was diagnosed late who is suffering from developmental delays.  We have struggled with Kenny’s health since birth (now we know why).  He has reached all his milestones a little late (crawled at 10 months, walked at 18 months, etc.) but we were told it was because he was so small (failure to thrive) and he would "catch up".  He is also in speech and occupational therapy because he only had about 5 words at his 2nd birthday and has problems with his tongue manipulation.  He needs to OT for sensory issues and fine motors skill delays.  Someone suggested that if is body was "off kilter" with his hormone levels for so long it could (maybe) cause delays.  Just wondering if anyone had a similar story or some thoughts?

Thanks, as always ....
