I asked the question about dry eyes because it just seems to me that a lack of fluids may cause that.  I was kind of looking at it affecting all fluid levels in general.  Causing things like dry mouth, dry eyes, dry joints etc.  When I was searching, and I input these symptoms I came across a condition called Sjögren’s ("SHOW-grins") syndrome which apparently is a chronic disease in which white blood cells attack the moisture-producing glands. The hallmark symptoms are dry eyes and dry mouth, but it is a systemic disease, affecting many organs and may cause fatigue. It is one of the most prevalent autoimmune disorders, striking as many as four million Americans.

Apparently as of yet there is no cure.  Wouldn’t it be odd if the people prone to that disease are actually short on something like florinef.  I did read somewhere that rheumatism can be caused by high levels of androgens--which in CAH is the opposite of higher levels of cortisol in many cases and I had read a lot last year about rheumatism because of that.  Well apparently rheumatism is also an added side-effect of this Sjögren’s syndrome too.  I could not help thinking there is a link between the two.  As you probably know, the joints in your body are lubricated with a fluid called synovial fluid.  In some CAH’ers they are never treated with florinef and may have some of the above symptoms possibly?  

Ten percent of synovial joints have a washer-like structure between bone ends called the meniscus. Its purpose is to absorb shock, to stabilize the joint, and to spread synovial fluid. It is made out of fibro-cartilage, which is a different tissue type from joint surface cartilage, but the meniscus also has no blood supply, no nerves, and no lymphatic channels. Biologically, it can’t heal itself. The knee meniscus is the most famous and most injured washer in the body.

I’m wondering about these things and thinking that possibly when they don’t treat salt wasting CAH in adults with Florinef if it kind of leaves them a little prone to this and the dry eyes and dry mouth amongst many other symptoms that could occur with lack of fluid.
