Hi Debbi,

I think you are frustrated. I know how much time I need to take off work for sick kids, dr appointments etc. But since I work full time, there is next to never a good time.

Our ped endo is associated with a clinic that is with a children’s hospital and med school. There are 4 ped endos. When we first started they told me that they always did diabetes in the morning and endocrine in the afternoon. I didn’t complain or say anything (probably should have) because it meant that we always got to miss nap time in order to make the dr appointment. The last two times we have made appointments they have been in the morning, so I don’t know what the change is (but I’m not complaining!)

I would suggest that you talk with the dr. Yes your doctor is a pediatrician and a ped endo. (Though knowing how busy my ped and ped endo are, I don’t know how she does it!) And we can all appriciate why she would want to group their appointments in some manner. I’m sure this is what the appointment person has been told do. But I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want to help accomodate you.

It also never hurts to check out other drs. I wouldn’t go to an adult endocrine group when you need pediatric (unless there is no choice).

Best regards,

Janet
