TiffaneyWe had problems with my son’s teeth due to the liquid cortef (giving it at midnight for one of his doses and didn’t even think about the sugar content in it) and iron drops for anemia when he was an infant. He is now 6. We started taking him to the dentist at 8 mos. of age for 4 little teeth because they were discolored.
Anyway, when he was 2 he had to have 8 teeth capped and 1 tooth pulled. It was all done at one time under general anesthetic. He did very well. We take him to a pediatric dentist and he has lost 2 teeth on his own which are coming in normally and appear to be strong teeth.
Our dentist stresses the brushing, flossing and he swears by ACT flouride rinse two times a day!
In your case, I would send a toothbrush to school and have him brush after lunch or any snack. I would also talk with your dentist about sealants or caps to help cover his good teeth. Good luck to you and your precious little one!
