Anne-Marie,
Thank you for your thoughts.  Although, I definetly don’t think I want to sue my doctor, I am unsure as to whether we should find another one.  Our new doctor received a copy of all medical records for both of doctors including correct quarterly visit follow up letters, lab values and bone age results.  I don’t believe that the information our endo is passing on to our pediatrician would effect any scripts or management but I believe it would effect the way he "knows" them.
I realize that these doctors are overloaded with patients but I figure it is not too much to ask that they record the proper information.  Some of the incorrect information was how my daughter was diagnosed with CAH, when and what surgeries she had, that she has been very healthy this year and has required no emergency room visits or hospitilizations as of the writing of this letter 2/28/03, when in fact she has been in the hospital twice.  Both times she was seen at his office first.  He decided she did not need iv fluids or solu-cortef.  After running a 105 temperature for the entire day she started to throw up profusely.  I called him to see if he would call the ER in advance for us.  He said not to jump the gun, just wait it out with phenergan and solu-cortef.  I said, nevermind, I am taking her.  Upon our arrival (this is for both ER visits, mind you), her electrolytes were out of balance and she was seriously dehydrated.  The ER docs could not believe he did not want us to come in.  And he is a very respected ped endo in our city.  There were several other errors.  The only thing that was noted that I was unaware of was that she had in November was blood and protein detected in her urine and that it would be re-evaluated at her next appointment in March.  It said nothing of her behavior except that she is a pleasant child and considered above average in her academic activities.
It just seems to me that if only one endo is dealing with her, they could get the information correct.  I am also concerned by his lack of attentiveness in areas that seem to be very important.
Thanks Anne-Marie!
