Stomach Flu
Mar. 15th, 2003   9:28am

Thought I’d put this up here after posting it down below.  Just wondered if anyone else has had the stomach flu in their home this past week or so?  I’m finding it hard to believe that this is stomach flu anymore actually.

We are in the middle of yet another bout of stomach flu here.  All the other kids have had it and got over it and tonight (1am) Ashley has started to throw up.  So far he’s had several double and triple doses.  I’m hoping that it settles down actually.  It wasn’t his dose time but I brought the 3am dose forwards and tripled it anyway but he threw it back within 25 minutes.  I gave him 15mg and a full florinef pill and he has thrown that back in three quarter’s of an hour, so I just gave another 10mg hoping that that will nail it on the head.  We’re 2.20am here at the moment and I am getting myself organized to take him into A&E if he vomit’s again.

I came back to the post as I hadn’t read it the other day and I am now wondering if it is a case of the stomach flue or whether there is something going on with water supply at this time of year.  It just seems ridiculous that this is happening at the same time every year.  This has not been an occurence in the past with us and it seems strange to me that at the same time every year the kids have this.  Once we all had it at the same time and could not even look after him properly we were so sick.  I am thinking to take him in if he vomits again and get them to put him on a drip to be honest.  Don’t really feel crash hot myself at the moment and it’s amazing how it has gradually worked it’s way through the whole family within two days flat!  I’m exhausted with it as I was up all last night with Kyle vomiting and he is still very weak and won’t take fluids.  Their father had to stay tonight to take over as I had had no sleep the night before and also I was concerned that Ashley may start vomiting in the middle of the night--which he has.  Funny how your sixth sense sort of tells you to prepare for these things.
