amount of stress dose

I know I should always check with my son’s endo if I have any questions but I figured I would post and see what answers I get.  I don’t post anything often, I just like to read and learn from what everyone says.  My son’s endo told me to double his cortef but so many of you triple.  Do you have any reasons this might be?  And, I have never given my son the solu-cortef shot.  I have it but we are only 15 minutes away from the hospital and they know us there so they get us right in.  He gets the shot within 5 minutes of being there.  Should I give it to him at home or is 20 minutes not going to hurt?  I am a parent that over reacts.  If he runs a fever, vomits, anything, I am at the hospital.  I never let things go for a long time.  I know that probably sounds like I’m crazy but I would rather think the worst and get told it’s nothing than think it’s nothing and it be the worst.  This is his life I’m dealing with.  If something happens, it’s my fault.  If anyone can give me any feed back on my two questions I would greatly appreciate it.  If it matters, he is 2 1/2 years old.  Thank you in advance for any help.  Sometimes it’s hard to get out what you are saying on a computer.
