My 4 1/2 year old has always tended to gain weight when we increase his Cortef dose. His dr. thinks much of it has to do with a genetic predisposition. (We don’t really have obese people in our family trees, but both sides of our family tend to be stocky rather than lanky.) My personal belief is that the steroids accentuate any tendency toward weight gain.
