HI Sherry,

Welcome and congratulations on your new baby girl! My daughter with CAH is almost 3!! WE are planning her party and she has picked a lady bug theme. She is doing very well. SHe talks my ears off, is very balanced and coordinated (loves to go skiing!! WE have a harness and leash to slow her down but she was just allowed off it for the first time and turned and slowed herself down!! SHe also wears a helmet and we carry the injection at all times.) and hilarious!! Anyway, 3 years have flown by and giving meds and going to the endo and blood draws every 3 months are routine by now. It does get easier. I remember when she was first born though, it ws so scary. (I recently showed my daughter’s birth records to her because they had the footprints and they were so unbelieveably small and cute. Well, she asked me "why does it say "baby" simeon. Had you not decided on a name?) OUCH. This friend knows about her genitalia and enlarged clitoris but I never told her that they couldn’t tell us if she was a boy or girl. I’m not sure if your daughter has this issue or not but please know you all are not alone. This is the right place to ask your questions. A couple of tips: Feel your daughter’s skin often to know what her normal temp feels like then when she has a fever you will know quickly by touch and can get the thermometer out. Don’t be afraid to use the injection and know how to use it. Print up the instructions and store them with the injection. Practice on an orange. When it’s needed it can’t hurt her. Keep advil, thermometer, injection kit, pedialyte and extra Cortef with you at all times. We even wrote out what to do if....for all situations we could think of and we keep that with the meds so that if we are panicing we can read and follow our own directions. For me, knowing I was as prepared as I could possibly be was the only way I could relax. So get prepared and then RELAX and enjoy your baby!! Take care! Julia
